Roleplaying in 3B

The children in Ms. Konrad’s 3B have been learning texts of a short roleplay to be presented to their parents in June. Emphasis is being place on pronunciation  and enunciation, rather than on acting.  Some of the kids in the class have just recently joined the group, but are making fast, steady progress.  We have made masks of paper plates depicting the different animal characters in the play.

Roleplaying is a very good way to help put kids in touch with the different nuances of a language, ie. tone, rhythme, different emphasis on words in a sentence that change meaning.  We have enjoyed the process and the children once again have proven their ability to rise to the occasion, and adjust and work together to reach a common goal.
